It’s an early Monday morning after a long night. It’s difficult to find inspiration, to think happily. At the least, this blog segment keeps me working towards that place that feels better. So here’s today’s quote.
“Manifest plainness, embrace simplicity. Reduce selfishness, have few desires.”
Easier said than done, but let’s give it a whirl! Have a good day! : )

If you lost control of your hand and it started punching you in the face… you’d quickly find a way to control your hand. So why don’t we control our mind when it hurts us? It sounds obvious but people let their minds beat themselves up all day long. We think poorly of ourselves, that we’re not as good as we thought we were, that we’re not that smart or thin enough.
Today’s happy thought is inspired by author T. Harv Eker. Often times it’s difficult for people to maintain this idea of always thinking positively. What helped me was the idea that thoughts are neither positive or negative, just a brain synapse. Some of them serve us and some make our lives more difficult. If we think poorly of ourselves, we feel bad too. Then we say the wrong thing, take the wrong actions and ultimately create negative consequences. Today I’m going to notice when I have negative thoughts and exchange them with thoughts that serve me and that are healthy.

Last night my fiance and I went to the opening night performance of In The Heights at the Boston Opera House. This contemporary Broadway musical touched us, inspired us and entertained us for the entire performance. It was a story of mostly Latino immigrants living (or trying to live) the American dream in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York. Filled universal themes throughout like romance, death, hope and aspiration, the show was also light-hearted and easy to love. The characters were well developed and the story was well written. It demonstrated it’s complexity by addressing the inherent racism even among minority communities. We both enjoyed it immensely and would recommend it to others.
For all those brides and Mom’s reading this who think that their fiances and husbands would never go to a musical… this is the one to see. It has a strong hip-hop vibe to it and lots of beautiful people. Stop at Max and Dillon’s (around the corner) after the show for good atmosphere, great drinks and tasty food. Thumbs up… Edson likes this : )

Happy Monday morning folks! We are truly blessed. I just walked over to the faucet and guess what came out… clean fresh drinkable water. Heat, electricity, indoor plumbing, man… we got it made. Gotta be thankful for that. Anyway, here’s the quote:
“The free thinking of one age is the common sense of the next” Matthew Arnold (1822 – 1888)
Think Freely!

Here we have our in house baby model and future president of DiasPhoto, Aviva Luna. She’s sporting a beautifully hand woven hat from Boston Beanies. The straightest route to a Dada’s heart…. is through his baby girl! It’s a really beautiful hat. Check them out here.
