2010 Year in Review Slide Show

December 31, 2010

Anyone partying yet?  Today is the end of the first decade of the new millennium… NEW YEARS EVE!  What a difference a 10 year span can make.  Chances are most of you were in college or just started working 10 years ago.  Now you’re getting married, growing up and moving on to new chapters…how exciting!?  I got married too this year.  So, I feel  your pain in planning a wedding, managing details, and tending to family members… fun stuff.  In 2010, we had about the same amount of weddings. 25 or so.  We started doing senior portraits and continued to do more family, baby and pregnancy photos with our traveling studio.  Check out tour Year in Review Slideshow, hope you like it.  Have fun tonight and be safe!

Perfect Baby Photos

June 29, 2010

Are you tired of perfect outdoor baby photos that almost look unreal?  I hope not because I can’t get enough of it.  I love the lighting, I love the background, I love that the kids love being outside.  It’s a win win situation.  How cute are these kids… no, seriously.  They’re like little baby models or something.  Gotta love ’em.

Individual and Whole

June 23, 2010

We’ve had a lot of portraits lately.  It’s interesting because we don’t do much advertising at all… i.e. none.   I have to give props to the Mom, she did a really good job in choosing the outfits for this photos session.  I love how everyone is wearing their own color and still all of the colors go together.  It shows them all as individuals but part of a bigger whole.  I also love how all of the colors are brought together in the daughters dress.  Good job Mom!  I love doing family portraits, especially when the lighting is perfect, clothing works, backgroud rocks and the kids are smiling, kind of like this photo session!

Family First

June 22, 2010

Our traveling studio takes us out to Spencer, MA for this post.  I was delighted to photograph such a big group of people for a family photo.  It can be challenging with lots of little kids but also really rewarding when you get a great shot.  We did big groups that day, small groups, couples, individuals and if there were any animals… we would have photographed them too!  This also reminds me of how special my job as photographer is.  I get to be part of people’s wedding day, then photograph their babies, children and other important events in people’s lives; it’s a good gig.   We had great weather and the babies were happy, what more can you ask for!

Welcome to East Boston, Piers Park to be exact!  I photographed this family not too long ago.  Michael (the Dad pictured) is an excellent musician and teacher at Zumix here in East Boston.  He will be playing saxophone and/or flute for the cocktail hour at our wedding, along with 2 other musicians.  Jessica (the Mom pictured) is an amazing classical singer.  If you’re interested in hiring either of them for your wedding… you can reach Jessica at:   jkcdiva {at} gmail {dot} com and check out Michael’s music here.

Hola Xavito

You gotta love this cute little guy!  He’s one of Aviva’s (our daughter) best friends and lives on the same block.  He has this really cool car that Mama and Dada push him in… which Aviva also loves!  We photographed their family at Piers Park in East Boston.  It’s a great place to take family photos as well as wedding photos or other kinds of portraits.  This is another installation of our traveling studio; a simple lighting set up that looks great and can be taken virtually anywhere.  Father’s day is coming up, call to schedule your own portrait session!  617.930.4632

Baby Love, Baby Love

April 7, 2010

It never ceases to amaze me what’s photographically possible at some one’s home.  The photos shown here on the white background were also taken at the family’s house.  We have several small backdrops that we can set up virtually anywhere.  It’s great for us because shooting in a studio everyday can be awfully boring.  That’s why I love taking photos on location, you get the best of both worlds… and it’s much easier for the family.

Traveling Studio

And heeere’s Jake….  Our traveling studio made it’s way out to Stoneham for this photo session.  I’ve been enjoying grabbing what ever elements are available at people’s homes for the photo.  The yellows duckies in this photo are the babies bath toys.  It adds visual interest to the photo and personalizes it a bit too.  He was a fun baby to photograph.  I love the photo with the wide eyes… woah!

Here are a few images from our latest endeavor. These were taken at the clients home, part of our traveling studio service.

Yesterday brought us to this young family’s home for a few portraits. The backdrop and lights only took a few minutes to set up. Next thing you know… tah-dah, the traveling studio is ready to go. The little boy was super cute and such a happy kid. He made the photo session sparkle. See more photos from our traveling studio here. As I had mentioned in my last post, we’re now offering holiday cards. They’re professional quality and only 98 cents each! Check out the card gallery here. If you’d like to order your own holiday cards it’s not too late. Email us, Edson@DiasPhoto.com or call 617-930-4632.
