This day was a scorcher!  We were expecting rain, which did happen earlier in the day but was followed by a sunny and humid 80+ degree day.  Again we found ourselves at the Boston Public Gardens directly across from the Four Seasons Boston. It’s a beautiful venue with an ironically understated decor.  The food was not understated though…. it was very flavorful and quite spectacular.  The Emmanuel Church in Newbury St. was a bit dark which made for tricky exposures but all in all an amazingly beautiful church, great wedding and the photos came out great.

Perfect Baby Photos

June 29, 2010

Are you tired of perfect outdoor baby photos that almost look unreal?  I hope not because I can’t get enough of it.  I love the lighting, I love the background, I love that the kids love being outside.  It’s a win win situation.  How cute are these kids… no, seriously.  They’re like little baby models or something.  Gotta love ’em.

“Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength.”

Individual and Whole

June 23, 2010

We’ve had a lot of portraits lately.  It’s interesting because we don’t do much advertising at all… i.e. none.   I have to give props to the Mom, she did a really good job in choosing the outfits for this photos session.  I love how everyone is wearing their own color and still all of the colors go together.  It shows them all as individuals but part of a bigger whole.  I also love how all of the colors are brought together in the daughters dress.  Good job Mom!  I love doing family portraits, especially when the lighting is perfect, clothing works, backgroud rocks and the kids are smiling, kind of like this photo session!

Family First

June 22, 2010

Our traveling studio takes us out to Spencer, MA for this post.  I was delighted to photograph such a big group of people for a family photo.  It can be challenging with lots of little kids but also really rewarding when you get a great shot.  We did big groups that day, small groups, couples, individuals and if there were any animals… we would have photographed them too!  This also reminds me of how special my job as photographer is.  I get to be part of people’s wedding day, then photograph their babies, children and other important events in people’s lives; it’s a good gig.   We had great weather and the babies were happy, what more can you ask for!

“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow.”

Mary Anne Radmacher

I just wanted to give a shout out to myself and my fiance… if I may.  Within 30 minutes of this post, I will be a married man.  My heart just jumped as I wrote that!  I love her so much… I found a  beautiful, intelligent. strong, caring, open hearted woman.  She’s a great partner and wonderful mother to our daughter.  Here she is… Here we are!  Yay for love and marriage!

OMG, check out Polina our associate photographer!  She photographed this couple’s engagement session recently in the Public Gardens and Beacon Hill area of Boston.  We’ve been working with Polina for quite some time now and she’s doing wonderful work.  She was able to capture the couple in such an intimate way and with so much tenderness.  The photos are fresh, inspired and surprising.  With Polina as the photographer and DiasPhoto handling the editing, album design and overall post production; this is an affordable, quality oriented way to go for your wedding photography.  We’re very happy with Polina… if you couldn’t tell : )  Her calendar is booking up well for 2010.  If you’re still in the hunt for a photographer for this year or next, email us at Edson {at} DiasPhoto {dot} com

Welcome to East Boston, Piers Park to be exact!  I photographed this family not too long ago.  Michael (the Dad pictured) is an excellent musician and teacher at Zumix here in East Boston.  He will be playing saxophone and/or flute for the cocktail hour at our wedding, along with 2 other musicians.  Jessica (the Mom pictured) is an amazing classical singer.  If you’re interested in hiring either of them for your wedding… you can reach Jessica at:   jkcdiva {at} gmail {dot} com and check out Michael’s music here.
