Custom Wedding Rings

July 27, 2010

We totally lucked out with our wedding rings.  We had Manny Camilo of Camilo Jewlers custom design our rings.  OK maybe just my wife’s ring was custom designed, mine is pretty simple.  We looked through a bunch of books of styles of rings and were able to pick the closest design that we liked and then had Manny modify it to our liking.  He made a wax mold of the ring by hand and cast this amazing wedding ring for us.  How cool is that!?  Camilo Jewelers can be found in Boston at Downtown Crossing – 333 Washington St. Suite 203-10, 02108

Frank’s Custom Tailors! Planning my own wedding proved to be the best experience in learning what  my clients go through.  There are so many vendors involved in planning a wedding, that a person may not realize it until they’re in the thick of things.  For example; I decided that I wanted to wear a suit and not a tuxedo for my wedding.  Initially I made the mistake of thinking I could get a good suit at Mr. Tux….. nope.  Big mistake!

I began the search for a place to get a good suit… a real suit, with crisp lines a subtle sheen and tight fitted shoulders like all the TV people wear  : )  Well, we only went to a couple different places until we found and settled on Frank’s Custom Tailors at Downtown Crossing (actually closer to Park Street).  Frank’s has that old craftsman kind of feel, they’re not cheap but are really good at what they do.  If you want to check them out, read their review’s here or stop by at 58 Winter St. 2nd floor, Boston, MA 617.542.1546. So here’s a few photos of what my suit looked like… and yes, that’s me rockin’ the orchid-tie look that I made up.  (I had to do something to keep up with that dress!)   Special thanks to Polina K. my associate photographer who took many of these amazing photos as well as my good friend James Lindley.

I have to mention how delicious the Fillet Mignon was.  Perfectly marinated with a flavorful jus.  The broccolini was snappy and fresh.   The dished could have been presented a bit warmer as we were the last to be served.  I also want to mention the 10th photo down.  The Soul Pose, where you see the couple side by side, represents their journey together as peers moving towards their future together.  Yes, just when you thought I couldn’t get any dorkier… I did it!  : )  I also love the “key” charm on her necklace, btw.

This day was a scorcher!  We were expecting rain, which did happen earlier in the day but was followed by a sunny and humid 80+ degree day.  Again we found ourselves at the Boston Public Gardens directly across from the Four Seasons Boston. It’s a beautiful venue with an ironically understated decor.  The food was not understated though…. it was very flavorful and quite spectacular.  The Emmanuel Church in Newbury St. was a bit dark which made for tricky exposures but all in all an amazingly beautiful church, great wedding and the photos came out great.
