July 4th Weekend

July 7, 2009

This past July 4th weekend was such blast. We had the good fortune of spending it with family and friends which is rare seeing as most years at this time I’m working a wedding. Today I’m happy to feature a few photos that I took, as well as a few that my fiance/studio manager took.
The last few photos of Dad with baby on his shoulders were taken by her. She’s becoming quite the up-and-coming new photographer. These were all taken at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, (which is actually where my fiance and I are planning our wedding ceremony) a great palce to go for a walk. It’s a true urban oasis.

Family portraits are always very rewarding because it’s so easy to see the value in it. Children grow up so fast and if you don’t photograph them now, you’ll never get today back. Having that said, if you’re interested in having family portraits done, we are having a Family Portrait Day at Borderland State Park. We are offering a reduced sitting fee of $79. Come join us at the park and get the family portrait that you’ve been hoping to get. Other than a $2 parking fee, admission to the park is free, so pack a picnic lunch and enjoy a fun family day. The park has a lot to offer:

These photos are from a dress fitting that I photographed last week at Lillian’s Fashions and Bridal in Norwell, MA. They have various styles of dresses from designers such as Paloma Blanca, Pronovias, Jasmine Couture, Anjolique, Maggie Sottero, Watters and Watters, Mikaella and more. They are also having a special promotion, if you purchase your bridal gown in the month of June you’ll receive 10% off and a Free veil. Check out their website for more information. If you’re interested in having us photograph one of your dress fittings, email us at Edson@DiasPhoto.com.

The world gets a little smaller day by day…. wedding by wedding. The commitment, devotion and marriage of two people is pure beauty. It is enormously fulfilling to see people from different cultures, religions and backgrounds loving and laughing together. This Indian-American wedding took place at the Sri Lakshmi Hindu Temple, in Ashland, MA. It was followed a by a beautiful reception at the Newton Marriott. Kelly, our associate photographer shot all of these images, as I was photographing the images from the blog post below. She did an amazing job and continues to amaze me. We have various wedding photography packages between the two of us. For more info check out our website and click on info.

In Bold Country

June 16, 2009

Congrats to this young couple who had a beautiful wedding last week at the Berkley, MA Congregational Church, followed by a reception at Bittersweet Farms in Westport, MA. The wedding was elegant-country with a bold flare. Instead of a traditional cake, they opted for these tasty wedding cupcakes, which are rapidly growing in popularity. They were fun, and I was happy to work with such a cute couple. I hope you enjoy the photography.

Last week brought us to Christopher Columbus Park near the North End in Boston for an engagement session. The couple was really fun and had the great idea to get a few shots with baseball hats on of their favorite teams. I then come to find out that he’s from New York and is a Yankee fan. She’s a hometown girl and of course a Sox fan… how could she not be : ) Red Sox and Yankee fans can live together in harmony! They have a great wedding planned at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, I’m sure it will be beautifully elegant. If you’re planning on getting married near the Fanueil Hall area, whether it be at The Boston Harbor Hotel, The Millennium Boston or The Marriott Long Wharf, they are all withing walking distance of Christopher Columbus Park where this e-session was photographed. I love this photo session, if you like them also and are interested in getting your engagement photos taken… check us out DiasPhoto.com

The Heart Gallery

We are happy to share that we are currently showing our photo work at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree. I donated a portrait session to the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE). It is an amazing organization that finds homes and families for children in the foster care system. If you’d like to donate to MARE, click here. For more info on adopting a child click here.

Family and Friends

June 5, 2009

After my last e-session at Christopher Columbus Park in the North End (which I will post shortly), I was able to get a few photos of my friends family. These were all impromptu portraits but still made me smile. If you’re getting married anywhere near the North End, you may want to consider having photos taken at here, take a peek.
